Who made this, what we keep, and what happens to it. Questions? Just ask.
Hi! I'm TJ, and I live in Hampton Place. I made this for fun, so kids can find the best porches on Halloween, and so kids with allergies can find treats they can have.
It's free and has no ads. It isn't run by the HOA, but the link is shared on the HOA's eNeighbors page.
Only what you type into the porch form. Just looking at the map doesn't save anything.
| What | Why | Who sees it |
|---|---|---|
| The house you tap | To put your pin on the map | Neighbors with the passcode see a pin. Never your address. |
| Your name optional | So neighbors know whose porch it is | Neighbors with the passcode. It says "A neighbor" if you skip it. |
| Treats, hours and a note | So families can plan their route | Neighbors with the passcode |
| Porch light off optional | So kids know to skip your house | Neighbors see a dash on your house. No name. |
| "Added for them by" only if you help a neighbor | So they know who to ask about changes | Neighbors see your first name |
| Out of candy | So kids can skip porches that ran out | Neighbors, on Halloween night |
| Your email | To send you your edit link | Never shown on the site. Only TJ can see it. |
All of it is deleted on November 1.
No cookies. Your browser just remembers that you typed the passcode, and forgets as soon as you close the tab.
We'll never sell it, share it with the HOA, or use it for anything else.
On November 1, everything is deleted for good and the map goes offline until next year. TJ will post on eNeighbors when it's done. Next October, everyone starts fresh.
No problem! Reply to the trick-or-treat post on eNeighbors or tell TJ, and TJ will add your porch. A neighbor or family member can add it for you too, as long as you say it's OK. Their first name shows as "Added for them byβ¦" so you know who to ask.
That's totally fine, whatever the reason. If you want, mark your porch light off and kids will know to skip your house. Houses that don't sign up are just left blank. Nobody assumes anything.
Send TJ a message on the Hampton Place eNeighbors page. You can also read the privacy page and accessibility page for the whole site.
