Privacy

The short version: this site doesn't track you, doesn't have ads, and doesn't sell anything. Here's the longer version, in plain words.

Just looking around?

Nothing about you is saved when you visit. There are:

  • No analytics, ad trackers or "like" buttons
  • No cookies
  • No outside services. The fonts, photos and maps all come from this site, so nobody else sees your visit.

When you click the trick-or-treat map, your browser remembers that for a moment so it can play a little animation. It forgets as soon as you close the tab.

The trick-or-treat map

The map is the only place on the site where you can share anything, and that's up to you. It asks for as little as possible, and everything is deleted on November 1.

To keep the map just for neighbors, your browser remembers that you typed the passcode until you close the tab.

See exactly what the map keeps and who can see it.

Where the site lives

The site is run by a web hosting company. Like every web host, its servers briefly keep basic records of each visit, like your IP address and browser, to keep the site safe and running. TJ doesn't use those records to figure out who visited.

Links to other sites

Links like eNeighbors, the City of Overland Park and Blue Valley Schools go to their own websites. Once you're there, their privacy rules apply, not these.

Kids

The site never asks for kids' names, ages or photos.

Photos and maps

The neighborhood photos are from the Hampton Place HOA. The maps are drawn from OpenStreetMap, a free map made by volunteers. There are no satellite or street-view pictures of anyone's home.

Questions?

Send TJ a message on the Hampton Place eNeighbors page. If you shared something on the trick-or-treat map and want it gone, just ask and it'll be deleted the same day.

If anything here changes, this page will say so first.
